Common questions
Does this replace our existing employee experience platform?
No. Connect's chat and calling work alongside your DEX, comms or engagement platform. If you decide to change a platform later, your chat history and group structure stay with Connect.
How does this compare to WhatsApp?
We’ve worked to make sure the experience and features are in line with what people expect from a messaging app. That means it needs to be fast, simple and intuitive, and have all of the typical messaging and calling features like emojis, reactions, voice notes, group chat, polls, etc. The big difference is that Connect's version is tied to your HR data, ensuring it’s secure, encrypted, and that access is restricted to those that should actually have it.
Are personal phone numbers kept private?
Yes. Connect doesn't advertise personal phone numbers between employees. Personal contact details stay private, and no one can search for or read another worker's personal information through the platform.
What happens to chat history when someone leaves?
On the worker's last day, they're removed from every group and lose access to Connect. The group's history stays where it is for the remaining members, leavers can't read or download past conversations.
Can employees create their own groups?
Yes! Alongside the groups created based on site, role, brand, workers can create groups based on shared interests like groups for sharing music, sports, hobbies, whatever brings them together.
What can IT and HR see?
Admins can view usage analytics in the Admin Console, set word filters in line with company policy, and moderate or remove conversations when needed. They don't sit inside every conversation by default.
Is it free for our workers to use?
Chat and Calling features are an add-on in to the core Connect fee. Once set up, there’s no extra usage fees, no data plan dependencies beyond a normal internet connection.
